"Stanley" is a motorized fish-like kinetic sculpture whose dorsal and pectoral fins, tail, eyes, and mouth move. His eyes light up.
Stanley is made with bicycle chain, bicycle cogs, bicycle hubs, bicycle dropouts, motorcycle timing chain, motorcycle turn signals, hand cut and formed steel, laser cut stainless steel, brass hardware, 1/80 hp 28.4 rpm motor, and DC lights. Stanley’s geared motor is in a linear position, centering all of his mechanical components. This motor is geared a second time through the use of bicycle chain and cogs to create varying speeds and movements.
